    What is yoga?
The Sanskrit word yoga is translated as 'union'. The practice of yoga helps to co-ordinate the breath, mind and body to encourage balance, both internally and externally and promote feelings of relaxation and ease.  In the West, the most widely taught form of yoga is Hatha Yoga. Yoga classes offer students postures and movements to stretch, strengthen and flex the body, to develop breath awareness, to relax and sometimes to meditate.
Yoga gives the energy to lead life fully and with enjoyment. Time spent in practice puts mundane issues in perspective and builds a fund of inner strength. Family, friends and work all benefit.
Anyone, irrespective of age, health, circumstance of life and religion, can practice yoga.

I have been practicing yoga on and off for 20 years and have felt my interest and understanding grow over the years. I  studied for my Yoga Teachers Diploma, with Belinda Emberson, at the British Wheel of Yoga. Previously to this I completed the year long foundation course with Pam Horton, also with the British Wheel of Yoga.
I began teaching at Easter 2014.
My classes are a mixture of dynamic and static yoga asana. As every individual is different, all practice can be modified to meet and match each person’s abilities. This helps to produce the best practice for each and every individual, and supports each of us to work within our own  capabilities.
